Parochial Athletic League Diocesan Track Meet

The PAL Track Meet Prelims will be held at Mater Dei High School on April 23rd.  The Finals will be held at Aliso Niguel High School (map) on Saturday, May 20th and Sunday 21st.  It is open to girls and boys in grades 1-8 throughout the entire Diocese of Orange.

Grades 1-4 compete starting at 8:00am and grades 5-8 compete starting at 12:00pm.

It is a fun event — no tryouts are necessary! We will have a representative there all day to help parents direct their children to their events.

About the Meet

If your child wants to participate but you can’t be there all day, you can sign up for events that either run in the morning or in the afternoon, or field events that can be completed anytime between 9:00 am. and 3:00 p.m. The organizers start staging the races at least 30 minutes prior to the event. The actual schedule of events and number of heats will not be available until the morning of the meet. Please visit the PAL website for more information. You will find results from last year’s meet, meet records, a map of the stadium, and start times from previous meets which can serve as a guide.

If your child wants do a relay, please coordinate relay teams with fellow parents. There needs to be four committed runners in order to compete and they do not accept substitutions the day of the meet. Co-ed relays can be organized for grades 1 and 2 only if there is not enough of either gender to form a complete team.

Entry Fee and Deadline

The entry fee is $35 which includes entry and an SJB track tee shirt.  The deadline to enter the meet is Friday, March 24th, so please turn in the forms and fees by then. Please complete the form linked below and turn in your check (made payable to SJB) to the Front Desk.

General Information

  • No track spikes or track shoes with spikes removed allowed
  • This is an all-day event, but students may come for just part of the day depending on the events being entered

*Relays must have 4 participants. Please coordinate with fellow parents in your child’s grade if he/she would like to participate in a relay.
