Father Damien (Rector) and Mrs. Viles (Principal)
Dear SJB Families,
I hope that your first few weeks of 2020 have been good. We are off to a good start as we get back into the groove of school. We want to personally invite our families to attend Family Mass this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. As always, we would appreciate you wearing your uniform in order that our parish families can recognize our school students. This Sunday make sure to find Mrs. Viles after Mass to collect your free dress ticket. She will be giving out tickets that can be used for appropriate free dress on Tuesday, January 21.
Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year
It is hard to imagine but today, we sent home the re-registration paperwork for this upcoming school year. The paperwork was sent home with the oldest student in the school. Our current 8th graders should have the paperwork even though they will be moving on next year. Please fill out your form and return with your student, or you can return your form to Mrs. Lee in the front office.
We will begin our official Enrollment 2020 at our annual Open House event. For our Open House, this January 26, we invite all of our current families, as well as, prospective families interested in joining our school family. If you have a family in mind, please invite them to join us. The official program will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. All classrooms will be open to visit.
Family STEAM Night
Please mark your calendar for February 12 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. St. John's will host our first ever Family STEAM Night. We are preparing for an exciting evening of math, technology, and engineering. There will be a demonstration by our Robotics Club. We will have a variety of grade level activities on display for families to try out. Come and discover what STEAM is all about. Food items will be available for purchase as well.

We pray for God's blessings on the families of: Sarah Magann; Braeden Mageean; Lexie Main; Ava Marks; Kayla Matheson; Damien Mayer; Declan and Madeline McCaffrey; Brennan and Meara McCarthy; Anna and Sean McDonald; Aiden McGrath.
Special Intentions: We continue to pray for the healing of Mrs. Alquaddoomi. We pray for the safety of all those attending and for the success of the One Life LA event being held this Saturday, January 18. We pray for all those special intentions in our prayer basket and those undergoing medical procedures and/or testing this week.
One Life LA Prayer: God our Father, You create everyone in Your image and likeness, to share Your love as Your sons and daughters. Help us to see Your face in the faces of the poor and the vulnerable the forgotten and the voiceless. Bless us as we seek to build a culture of life, through our One Life LA celebration. Keep us close to our Blessed Mother Mary, as we strive to promote the dignity of all human life from conception to natural death. — Most Reverend José H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles.
