Each year St. John the Baptist Catholic School hosts a Jog-A-Thon in which the students actively participate to raise money for necessary school improvement projects. Since tuition only covers our basic operating expenses, the school relies heavily on fundraisers such as the Jog-A-Thon to raise funds for such projects.
This year's Jog-A-Thon takes place on Friday, April 3, 2020.
Our goal is to raise $35,000 to enhance the STREAM Education and for upgrades to the TK/K programs as well as Kids Kingdom. These improvements will enhance our students' learning experiences, help with academic advances, and promote students' self-confidence.
Money raised on previous Jog-A-Thons was used to complete our Makerspace (STREAM) Room. In this classroom, students in grades TK-8 are able to work using both high tech robotics and 3D printers as well as a variety of other hands-on materials including LEGO®, peg boards, and blocks to collaboratively solve problems. Jog-A-Thon funds have also been used to upgrade technology, expand the Music curriculum, improve the school library and student bathrooms, and install a large shade structure over the playground.
