After School Extracurriculars
St. John’s offers a wide variety of after school clubs. These clubs include a soccer program and dance programs designed specifically for our younger students in grades TK-5. Our Chess Club is open to students in grades K-8. The LEGO® program is engineering specific and is open to students in grades 1-6. Our Robotics Club is aimed at students in grades 4-8.
Challenger Soccer Academy
The Challenger Soccer Academy's after school programs focus on introducing and developing each player's soccer skills as their international coaches follow an innovative curriculum that combines drills and games in a relaxed and fun environment to encourage development.
Academic Chess
Academic Chess is dedicated to promoting the merits of chess to children by using stories, dances, and catchy songs to make the game exciting to play, easy to understand, and impossible to give up. This unique learning experience not only teaches children to play the game of chess, but also prepares them for innumerable facets of life by enhancing their thought processes and honing their analytical skills.
Dance
Inspiration Dance and WeBreak offer affordable studio-quality dance classes including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and/or breakdancing at St. John the Baptist. Instructors have years of teaching experience and/or professional dance careers. Music, costumes, and choreography are always age-appropriate and family-friendly.
Strategic Kids' Engineering with LEGO®
Lego Club utilizes several hands-on curriculum from LEGO® comprised of different concepts and LEGO® kits. Depending on which session is being offered, students come away from the program with an understanding of basic engineering and architectural concepts and principles, basic science and mathematical principles and/or a variety of other topics in the language arts, social studies and even public speaking, problem solving and storytelling!
Strategic Kids' Cartooning
Cartooning is a unique activity that improves artistic ability and teaches storytelling techniques, as it helps kids express ideas visually and in sequence. Our program keeps it simple by teaching children how to create cartoon characters step-by-step, with themes ranging from sea creatures to geometric shapes!
Robotics
Robotics Club offers two programs for students in grades 4 through 8 to learn basic engineering skills and have fun! Beginning and advanced students learn about gears, geometry, motor torque, physics, magnets, electricity and more using Lego Mindstorm and other systems.
