Last month, four Norbertine sisters joined the faculty at St. John the Baptist School in Costa Mesa. The founding nuns of the Congregation of the Norbertine Sisters are from Slovakia and since arriving in 2011, they have been blessed with many vocations. One of these vocations is the education and faith formation of Catholic youth, and the sisters plan to continue this ministry.
The students of St. John the Baptist School experienced their first Snow Day thanks to JSerra Catholic High School, which raised money to bring 20 tons of snow to the elementary school. A long-held tradition at JSerra, Snow Day marks the end of the first quarter and beginning of the holiday season.
During a lifetime of collecting critters of all kinds, SJB Chaplain Fr. Damien uses his rag-tag menagerie of reptiles, amphibians, mammals and spiders to teach young children about life.
The St. John the Baptist Catholic School Clover Choir is counting down the days until their April departure for Washington, D.C., where they will participate in the Heritage Music Festival. Travel is such an integral part of the choral program, and the choristers really look forward to each trip.
